Hooked -- A New Song from Pip

Yesterday was an absolute lousy day.  I arrived home from work and was not feeling good about my little world but was also looking for a way to rid myself of those negative, counter-productive feelings left over from the office.

While making dinner, I checked my email to see if there was some wonderful piece of news that would cheer me up.  My stressed out mood buster came in the form of an email from Pip, my cousin's talented son and singer who participated in season two of NBC's The Voice as part of  Adam Levine's team.

Music.  Yes, that's what I needed to erase the day's frustrations and bring me back to a relaxed state of mind.  Pip's email contained a new song and video titled "Hooked"  which I clicked on right away because I knew Pip's amazing voice and positive energy would shine through his music video and be contagious and mood changing.

It was!!  Thanks Pip!!  Check out "Hooked" for yourself below:

Royals Cover By Pip

Lorde's smash hit, "Royals," is a mesmerizing song with an almost hypnotic beat.  I can't understand all the words to the song but I still like it and it continues to grow on me.

I was surfing around on YouTube the other day because music is an instant stress buster for me and found a different version of  "Royals," sung by Pip and a few other singers.  I watched it a few times and thought you might want to check out Pip's unique cover of "Royals" because it's filmed in the round in a parking garage!

Pip in Los Angeles
Since his fabulous appearance on the second season of NBC's hit series, "The Voice," Pip moved to Los Angeles to continue his music career.  His debut EP, No Formalities, was released in January 2013 with a debut single of a song called "Who Cares."

Maybe you'll be driving Cadillacs in your dreams today!  Below is the link to Pip's YouTube video.  Hope you like it:

Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah"

Cast of NBC's "The Voice"
singing a tribute to victims in Newtown, CT

A good friend who tragically lost a loved one in the Newtown, CT mass shooting yesterday posted on her Facebook page this beautiful and haunting video of the coaches and artists from NBC's hit show, The Voice, singing Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" in a tribute to the 20 children and six adults who died in the halls of Sandy Hook Elementary School.

I think it is the simplicity of the song's message that makes it so powerful.  Let the healing powers of the music fill your soul and wash over you and may it offer you a few moments of relief from any pain you may be feeling today.

I am so sorry for your loss Annie.  Thank you for sharing in your time of sorrow.

Future Dream -- Pip

Pip Singing

Ouch!  Is it really Monday?

Four days off from work have been so great, can I repeat so great, for my mind and my soul!!  I went for some walks, did some yard work, caught up on my sleep, saw family and friends on Thanksgiving Day, did a little Christmas shopping and went to the movies and saw the new James Bond movie, "Skyfall."  It is excellent!! You really must see it if you haven't already.

But now I have Monday staring me in the face along with a brand new work week.  How do I get motivated to get out the door?

Music, my dear friends, music!

My cousin, Gina, posted a new song on her Facebook page that her nephew, Pip, wrote and sings.  He has a great voice!  Do you remember Pip?  He was a finalist on the second season of NBC's prime-time hit show, "The Voice."  Pip was on Adam Levine's team and since leaving the show he has been very busy in the recording studio.

His new song is called Future Dream and it features Pip singing and rockin' to some major drum beats.  I've listened to this a few times already this morning and I think I'm just about ready to groove out the door and face the week.

If you feel so inclined to spread the word of Pip's new song, please share this post/link.

Many thanks!  Go Pip!

Pip's New Song: Who Cares

Exciting News:  Pip, who was a finalist during the second season of  NBC's The Voice, yesterday released his long-awaited debut single, Who Cares.

I know you remember him because Pip has a beautiful voice, he was on Adam Levine's team and he is the one who wore the bow ties.

You have to give a listen to Who Cares (available on iTunes) because it will get you jazzed and make you want to move and groove!!  Also, music is just plain fun and a proven stress buster.  Almost everyone I know (including me) can use a break from stress and tension.

My first reaction to Who Cares: Loved It!  So relax, listen and ENJOY!!!!!! As my cousin Gina says, "This (video) is sooooo cool":

Pip -- Beautiful Goodbye (Cover)

If you watched NBC's The Voice this past season, then I'm sure you are familiar with the amazing singing talents of Pip.

Pip, short for Phillip, was a finalist on The Voice and Adam Levine, lead vocalist for the Grammy-award winning pop rock band, Maroon 5, was Pip's coach during the prime time competition program.

Pip is a native of Marietta, Georgia and he is my cousin's son.  Our family loved watching him break out and perform on national TV and voted for Pip on every episode.  We wish him all the best and look forward to the next exciting chapter in his very promising career.  To keep us updated, one of my other cousins just posted online this new YouTube video of Pip performing one of Maroon 5's huge hits, Beautiful Goodbye, that Pip says is a tribute to Adam Levine.

Please listen to the soulful and healing sounds of Pip's voice:
